Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
The short version
Jadex Vault is self-hosted software — once installed, your passwords and vault data live on your server, not ours. We never have access to your vault contents. This policy covers only what happens on this website (jadexvault.com) and what, if anything, the software itself sends back to us.
What this website collects
- Download requests — when you download the installer, we ask for your name, email, and optionally company/team size. This is sent to our team (via Telegram) so we can follow up if you need help. We do not sell or share this with third parties.
- Feedback submissions — anything you submit via the Feedback page, including your name/email if provided.
- Purchase information — if you buy a license, payment is processed by Razorpay; we receive your email and payment confirmation, not your card details (Razorpay handles those directly, PCI-DSS compliant).
- Standard web logs — Cloudflare (our hosting provider) logs IP addresses and request metadata for security and performance, per their standard practices.
What the installed software sends us
- License activation — when you activate a license key, the key and a hardware fingerprint (derived from your machine, not personally identifying) are sent to our activation server to verify the license and prevent piracy. Your vault data is never included in this.
- Optional breach checking — if enabled, a short hash fragment (never the actual password) is sent to a public breach-checking service (HaveIBeenPwned-style k-anonymity) directly from your browser, not through our servers.
- Optional website icon fetching — if enabled, your browser fetches favicons directly from the websites your vault entries point to, for display purposes only.
- Nothing else leaves your server by default. No usage analytics, no telemetry, no vault content, ever.
Zero-knowledge mode
When zero-knowledge encryption is enabled for a vault entry, encryption keys are derived from your master password on your device. We (and your own server admin, if that's not you) cannot read that data even if we wanted to — there is no way to recover it if you forget your master password and haven't set up account recovery.
Your rights
Since your vault data lives on your own server, you have complete control — export, delete, or move it at any time using the built-in export and backup tools. For data we hold about you directly (download/feedback/purchase records), email privacy@jadexvault.com to request access or deletion.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the website or software after a change means you accept the update.
